If your roof is 15-20 years old, it’s likely at the end of its life. There are several factors which play a role in this, but you’ll typically save money replacing a roof (and avoiding further home damage) prior to experiencing leakage. We offer a thorough, complimentary inspection, to determine if a replacement is even necessary.

Repairing your own roof can not only be complicated, but time intensive and dangerous. It’s best to leave these things to us. This will not only guarantee our work, but will help to prevent costly corrections.

With proper ventilation, you can avoid the common issues of condensation and high shingle heat. Structural damage and mold growth are additional risks which can invalidate the warranty on your shingles, if installed without proper ventilation. We help you prevent that.

The size and pitch of the roof will play into an accurate estimate. We’d like to give you the most accurate estimate, following a complimentary assessment. That way, there are no hidden costs, and you aren’t relying on inaccurate aerial maps, etc.

15-20 years are the magic numbers when it comes to a properly installed roof’s lifespan. Proper installation includes using high quality materials, which will withstand our Texas climate.

The heavy wind and rain that we experience in this part of Texas, typically begs an ice and water barrier. This is an added service that we can offer–but one that has been crucial for many of our clients.

Ultimate Pipe Flashing, is a premium pipe jack made of silicon. These are what seal the pipes which come through your roof. The reason we prefer to use UPF and not the typical rubber, is because rubber has a lifespan of seven years, at most. Here at Willis, we’re about longevity and quality when it comes to handling your roofing needs. UPF’s will last the lifetime of your roof, without need for additional maintenance. That being said–we want our customers to be working within a budget that feels doable to them. If you’d like us to consider the alternative, we’re open to that discussion.

Arctic Seal is our brand of choice, when it comes to this optional step. Due to our extreme wind and rain that we often see here in Texas, this step comes highly recommended. This barrier lays under the shingles and underlayment, to provide an additional leak proof layer, in the areas most susceptible to leakage.

Underlayment is the layer between shingles and roof sheathing. We like to use a synthetic, and the specific type is determined by the roofing materials. This layer provides a secondary layer of protection from the weather and elements.

This is just one of the five layers which make up a new roof. Smart Start is our go-to, as we love the quality, and they provide increased wind protection. We all know that high winds need to be taken into account in our Texas climate. Not only are these sustainably designed, but they’re larger in size than your standard shingle.

Although GAF shingles are the most common in the area, we actually prefer to work with Malarkey. When it comes to impact rating and cost value, we’ve found that time and time again, Malarkey, scores higher. When our customers utilize shingles of this higher quality, they consequently outfit their roof for hail protection–which in turn, qualifies them for a discount on their homeowner’s policy.

At the most vulnerable high points on your roof, it may be determined that more impact protection is needed. This is where ridge and hip shingles might come into play. This can be determined during our assessment, depending on the hips and ridges.
